Terms of use

These terms cover the use of Humsana Hiring. They are short because the product is narrow: it reads applications against a scorecard a founder approved, and it records what the founder decided.

1. The service

Humsana Hiring is a hiring tool. It helps a company turn a role into a scorecard, read applications against it, and keep a checkable record of each decision. It is not a recruitment agency, it does not source candidates, and it does not make hiring decisions.

2. Accounts

One account per company. The person who creates it is responsible for who else is given access and for keeping the password to themselves. Tell us at contact@humsana.com if an account is compromised.

3. Candidate data

The company is the data controller for the applications it puts into the product. By using the product the company confirms that it has a lawful basis for processing them, that candidates have been told their application will be read with software, and that it will honour requests for access or deletion. The product's own description of this is in the privacy notice. Applications must not include special category data (health, religion, caste, sexual orientation, biometric data) and the company agrees not to solicit it.

4. How decisions are made

A person makes every decision. The system checks a proposed decision against the approved scorecard and refuses one the scorecard does not support, for example a rejection where the only problem is missing evidence. Those refusals are part of the product, not an error, and should not be worked around by changing the scorecard after reading the applications.

5. Fair use

Do not use the product to make decisions on grounds that are unlawful in India or in the candidate's jurisdiction, to process data you have no right to process, to attempt to re-identify a candidate from a redacted document, or to probe the system for ways around its rules. Accounts doing any of these will be closed.

6. Availability and change

The service is offered as it is, during a pilot, without an uptime commitment. Features may change, and a change that affects how decisions are recorded will be announced to account holders by email before it takes effect.

7. Fees

No fee is charged during the pilot. Paid plans, when they exist, will be agreed in writing before any charge is made.

8. Liability

To the extent the law allows, Humsana is not liable for a hiring decision, for a candidate the company chose not to interview, or for indirect losses. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount the company paid us in the previous three months.

9. Ending it

Either side may stop using the product at any time. On request we delete the account's data, except decision records that the company asks us to keep, and except what we are required to retain by law.

10. Governing law

Indian law, and the courts at Bengaluru have jurisdiction. Questions to contact@humsana.com. These terms are a plain statement of the arrangement and will be reviewed by counsel before commercial launch.
